Clubs
-
Only clubs whose financial obligations have been met shall be
entitled to enter one or more teams.
-
All clubs shall provide suitable accommodation,
equipment and lighting facilities.
Teams
-
Applications to enter teams into the League shall be made to the
League Secretary on the designated form together with fee, on or before the AGM.
-
All teams must have a registered start time which must be between
7.00 pm and 7.30 pm.
-
For any match Teams shall select three or four players, a fourth player may
play in the doubles only.
-
When a team cannot field 3 registered players,
one substitute may be used.
-
Any team playing an unregistered player or
an invalid substitute will forfeit any sets won by
that player.
-
If it transpires that a substitute was used when
a registered player was available the substitute's sets will be forfeit and
further action may be considered by the management committee.

Any
substitute
must be of equal or
lower banding than the lowest banded
member registered for the team he is aiding.
-
A substitute registered for a team in a higher
division will be invalid.
-
If a team uses a substitute on more than 4 occasions
without prior approval of the management committee, that substitution will be
invalid.
Players
-
All players must hold individual registration
with the ETTA.
-
Players shall register for only one team in the league.
-
A player may be transferred at his or her own request to another
club and/or team but only once per season.
-
He or she, with the written consent of both team secretaries
involved, should notify the Fixture Secretary to register the said transfer.
-
Confirmation from the Fixtures Secretary must be obtained at
least 24hrs before the player may take part in any match.
-
A registration or transfer will not normally be allowed after the
end of December in each season.
-
Any member of any club in the league may play as a substitute for
any team of any club, subject to the team rules on substitute validity.
-
Players must have played in 3 league fixtures in
the current season (September to March) to be eligible for entry into the
individual closed championship competition.

Sets played as a substitute will not count to the
players averages.
Player Banding
-
Player bandings will be determined by the
Management Committee at the start of the season based on the averages for the
previous seasons.
-
The Management Committee will decide a banding
for any player not included in the averages from the previous season. This will
be subject to review as the season progresses.
Matches
-
All matches should be played as per fixture book. Matches cannot be postponed due to lack of team players.
-
All matches shall start at the registered start time. If after 30
minutes a team is not represented, the opposing team shall have the option of
claiming the match.
-
If at any time 60 minutes after the allotted start time all
possible sets have been played and the continuity of the match is held up due to
the absence of players, the team with all players present shall have the option
of claiming the unplayed sets.

The names of players listed on the score sheet shall not be
altered after the commencement of the match, except to include a reserve player
who shall then continue to play throughout the match.

Each player shall play each member of the opposing team in the
order of the scorecard. In addition one doubles set will be played
-
A set will consist of up to 5 games of 11 points.

A copy of the score card must be submitted to the Fixtures
Secretary within 24 hours of the match completion by the home team secretary.

The season will end 7 days after the commencement of the first
day of the final week as printed in the handbook. Games played after this date
shall be declared void.

In the event of a match not being fulfilled the Management
Committee will adjudicate the result, based on other matches between the teams.
Promotion and relegation

The divisions tables will be decided on total sets won.
-
In the event of a tie in the number of sets for any league
position, it will be decided firstly by the number of matches won; secondly by
the number of matches drawn and thirdly by the results between the teams tied.
Disputes & Claims
-
Any claims must be made in
the following manner:
-
Within 7 days following the match date, the secretary of the
claiming team must give notice in writing to both the Fixture Secretary and the
Secretary of the opposing team stating reasons for the claim.

If the Secretary of the offending team wishes to dispute the
claim he must submit his argument in writing to the Fixture Secretary within 7
days of receiving the notice of claim.

If the above procedure is not complied with the claim will be
disallowed.

If a team was ready to complete a match but
was prevented by the other team, they may submit a claim for the match. The offending team will be deducted 3 points with the non
offending team being awarded a minimum of 3 points; any further additions will
be at the discretion of the Management Committee based on the other meetings
between the two teams.

Any Disputes or any points not herein covered shall be decided by
the Management Committee.

Any player or team shall have the right to submit new facts in a
written appeal to any decision of the Management Committee.
